In a typical 55 minute BODYPUMP™ class, we'll use specific music to motivate you and push through the class with maximum effect. Here's the low-down:
BODYPUMP™ begins with a warm-up to get your body moving and slowly starting to work out your muscles, using light weights only.
Focusing on each of the major muscle groups, you'll start working THE REP EFFECT™ involving all the important muscles to sculpt your legs, chest, back, shoulders, and abdominals.
Finally, enjoy a well-deserved cool down as you stretch your muscles to finish the workout and assist recovery.
GO HARD OR GO HOME
It's important to exercise safely right from the start. Good posture is the key - always keep your knees slightly bent, not locked - and perform the movements smoothly.
Don't overdo it with the weights - BODYPUMP™ uses THE REP EFFECT™ which focuses on low weights with high repetition to tone and strengthen. Start gradually, and then increase your weights after six weeks. Check out Learn the Moves for more specific advice.

Your muscles might feel a little sore after your first BODYPUMP™ class, but keep at it. It'll get easier! After your first few classes we recommend you do BODYPUMP™ just three times per week. Remember, your body needs recovery time between workouts, so rest for at least one day between classes.
